Our story

Founded on a single howl.

Hades Rescue began in 2014, when our founder Rae took in a surrendered senior malamute named Echo — a dog who had been marked "unadoptable" for being too vocal, too big, and too old.

Echo lived out his final four years surrounded by mountains, other northern breeds, and dozens of humans who fell for him. Every dog we've pulled since has been for him.

Today we're a network of trained foster homes across Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming — placing 80+ dogs a year and providing owner-support resources that keep hundreds more out of shelters.

What we believe

01

Breed-specific care

Northern breeds have unique needs. We specialize so we can advocate — not generalize.

02

Radical honesty

Every dog comes with a full behavior report. No surprises. No omissions. Trust starts here.

03

Lifetime commitment

Any dog we place is welcome back. Forever. No questions asked, no shame.
